Go crazy! Don’t mind if I do!

I’m pretty close too what with the chaos at the office right now...

The weather was warm enough that I could go and ride the motorcycle to the store to get some headphones. (Managed to pick up a 2nd-gen 4GB ipod mini for $49 off of E-Bay to replace all the stupid hard-drive based ones that keep failing on me.) It was even warm enough to wear my tech vest without the arms though I did wear gloves.

Is it summer yet? )

Sorry for not posting lately. I’ve been busy at work and haven’t been bringing my Macbook to work with me.

Even my tomato seedlings have suffered due to me not watering them regularly. They were all wilted this morning when I did finally water them but when I got home they perked up so I think they’ll be okay. Still no sign of the pepper seedlings so I don’t know what’s going on there.

Got the second LED grow panel in this week so I’ll set that up with a timer on both of them this weekend.

Blah...blah...blah... )

Found out what was causing the gutter to bend yesterday - the downspout was clogged with maple seeds. Cleaned it out and bent it all back up and it’s just fine. Got some grit in the rain barrel from that despite the screen but the stuff is only for garden use anyway so that’s not an issue.

A welcome wagon with broken wheels... )

So after going to my daughter’s IEP yesterday (no hammering of people needed - more on that later) I came back and I noticed that the damn gutter on the corner of the garage where the rain barrel sits is bent downward. So much so that it’s leaking out the corner a bit instead of running down. That likely means it’s clogged with something so since it’s raining steadily out today I’m going to have to look at it when I get home.

My jaw is down to a dull roar pain-wise so that’s a good thing. I’ve been taking far too much ibuprofen in my opinion. And the hole is closed but not grown together so I’m less likely to get any food stuck in there. I still have to kind of eat out of the left side of my mouth a bit but at least I’m not wincing as I eat any more.

Fries _and_ pie today just because I can.

Yes Virgina there is a Pie Clause... )

So we had a nice dinner and visit with my aunt, uncle, and my mother last night. Went to a pizza place in a hole in the ground. Pretty cool little place. It’s been there for 60 years and it’s one of those basement dimly-lit pizza and bar places. It’s always been one of my favorites.

Took the plow blade off the tractor an voila! snow predicted for this weekend. -_- Thankfully it won’t last long.

So I showed my sister-in-law Plant 101 and she took pretty well to it. Plants really aren’t that hard to grow. You can do some complex things but most things, (tomatoes, beans, peppers, etc.), are pretty easy.

I didn’t check my seedlings last night but I noticed that my wife’s Thyme has germinated. I set up a timer on the CF sunlight lamp so that it runs automatically. Hopefully the rest of her herbs will germinate this week.

Worked out on the Wii yesterday for 20 minutes and my Wii Fit age went down to 36! Cool! Of course it also said I gained 4 lbs between yesterday and the day before. Not too concerned because that happened the last time I got in shape due to muscle mass and increased blood flow. I can’t wait to see what it says when I get on it today. :-)

The damn thing tired me out last night so I went to bed pretty early so I didn’t get anything but the dishes done.

Things are getting a bit better organized at home. I’m going to move the wireless router and re-wire a couple of things so that the small printer is in the library. That will leave the wire in the third bedroom free for the large printer and be a little better wired.

Now that the plow is off the lawn tractor there’s a little more room in the garage for me to work so I can get more organization into that. I need to have work space for both computers and everything else. I really need to get moving on that because once planting season hits I’ll be too busy.

Worked out the basic solar/thermal design in my head. I’ve got the original sketches done so now all I need to do is acquire the building materials. Not sure where I’m going to mount it for testing but a southern exposure will obviously be best.

The Vicodin isn’t helping with gum pain. I’m taking a generic ibuprofen at work but I don’t want to take too much of that for obvious reasons. The suture is still in my mouth and hasn’t dissolved yet so it feels like there’s something stuck back there when there isn’t anything but the suture. Still got to be careful about eating but I can eat out of the left side of my mouth for now and be okay. Have to flush my mouth with water after eating which turns out isn’t a bad thing to do anyway.

Been taking my full complement of vitamins the last few days without issue. I shouldn’t have a problem continuing that as long as I remember to eat before taking them in the morning.

Still non biting my fingernails (Yay!) and typing has become interesting. I’m filing them okay but it’s still weird having that extra pressure when I hit a key on the keyboard. Never thought fingernails would be an issue...

Back to work for me!

It’s sprinkling today. Ugh. Well a least it isn’t snow. And since it’s unlikely to snow from this point on I took the plow off the lawn tractor yesterday. Haven’t put the moving deck back on but I’ll probably do that in a couple of days.

My dad mentioned my weight yesterday which irritated me a little since I’m already losing weight. I’ve gone from 275 to 263 in the last couple months. My Wii Fit age has dropped to 44 which is only 4 years older than I am physically. I’ve got to remember to get on that thing every day.

I do. ;-P

More precisely I picked up the rest of the reclaimed deck wood from our former neighbor - or at least as much as I needed anyway. I collected on Saturday and he burnt the rest on Sunday. (The 10’ long 2x12’s nailed together in pairs were the heaviest. Thankfully I’ve always been able t list things like that. A little sore the next day though.)

Nailed under the cut... )

So my right lower wisdom tooth is still giving me a pain but I’m going to stick it out next week until we have more money.

No calls from LEOs about my LED grow lamp yet but that may yet happen. Or maybe not. I honestly don’t care.

Grind...grind...grind... )

We had our first real thunderstorm yesterday. Spring is on its way...

I’ve volunteered to teach Plants 101 to my sister-in-law which shouldn’t be too hard as she’s pretty bright. She’s interested in growing her own tomatoes so I’ll start with that and walk her through the entire process including making the upside-down 2-litre planter as she has very little horizontal space in her condo.

Anyway to teach her this stuff I’m going to have to clean off the one workbench. Thankfully I need to do that anyway so I can set up the starter tray with the pet bed heater and the LED grow light.

DIdn’t eat right this weekend really. Ate far too much food and a good portion of it not good for me. I did try stir-frying some extra firm tofu but that didn’t turn out well. I’ve had some friends a number of years ago prove to me that tofu can be meat flavored/textured properly but at this point I don’t believe them and think they were lying to me at the time because what I cooked yesterday tastes nothing like meat

It’s supposed to be colder and rainy the rest of the week so no closing the valve on the rain barrel yet but soon...

We ordered the Wii Fit yesterday from Amazon. That should be here some time this week. Supposedly it kicks all sorts of ass - including the players. It’ll be interesting to see how it works out. I’m curious to try the yoga for some reason.

No sign of the other E-Bay items I’ve bought yet. I’m hoping the brain bucket and gloves will be in this week because I want them for when it gets warm enough to ride again. The rest of the stuff cane trickle in as it will.

No cuts needed in my posts now...no time to write long stuff...
