I'm not sure if the article is real or not because everything seems to point back to a single op-ed link but I can easily see this happening.
Students banned from bringing in pencils:

Supposedly it's not district policy only a teacher spouting off but is it any wonder that the quality of education is going down when we have teachers seeing potential weapons rather than eager minds to be molded?
And people wonder why I want to leave this country or hide out in the mountains until it all collapses and blows over. *grump*
