I do. ;-P

More precisely I picked up the rest of the reclaimed deck wood from our former neighbor - or at least as much as I needed anyway. I collected on Saturday and he burnt the rest on Sunday. (The 10’ long 2x12’s nailed together in pairs were the heaviest. Thankfully I’ve always been able t list things like that. A little sore the next day though.)

Nailed under the cut... )

So I rode the bike today. Not surprising how much I needed to do that. It wasn’t really that cold but I knew there were issues with riding so early in the season so I kept the bike upright the entire ride and kept it slow and easy the entire way. Now it’s 52 degrees and I’m enjoying the ride to/from lunch.

Ride like the wind... )

Our daughter is sick today - she woke us both up at around 3 a.m. crying and then threw up at about 4:15 or so. Seeing as her cousins just got over the stomach flu I’m betting that we’re being hit by it now. Wonderful. :-|

I found out that there’s a local hydroponics place within 20 minutes of me or so. That’s actually pretty cool so I think I’m going to check them out this weekend even if I don’t buy anything. There’s also another one about an hour away that has fairly inexpensive kits. I’m mildly surprised by this but I guess things are changing.

It’s liquid out today so the rest of the snow is almost gone. I hope it stays gone but I know that it’s only mid-February so I don’t have much hope of that.

Blech. I hate dreary days.

(...)

I better stop before I start composing emo poetry. :-/

At least things are moving along in the house. I managed to get the main carpet vacuumed last night and it was fine until my daughter “decorated” it early this morning near the bathroom. Now would be a good time to pull it up and see if there’s a real floor under it or not.

I think the aluminum cans are going out this week. I don’t have the time to save them and recycle them myself so they just have to go. Just like a number of other things I’ve got.

Dammit. Grey days make me want to eat truffle pie and it’s free pie day to-boot. *sigh*

*orders the pie*

Checked into it and I can’t use the twist-off Bawls bottles I have to brew beer with. They just won’t seal properly is what I’m hearing. However I’ve managed to get the Guinness “rocket” out of their bottles in less than a minute per bottle and those bottles are nice and heavy regular crown capped bottles.

The message here is obviously drink more Guinness. ^_^

So I see that Congresscritter Fiendstein is trying to put anti net-neutrality stuff into an economic stimulus/spending package.

Those of you that elected the SOB should feel proud that she seems poised to represent the special interests behind closed doors where people can’t see what she’s doing.

Yeah. That’s important. It’s important to protect our corporate interests and put that in A PIECE OF LEGISLATION THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE DEALING WITH THE ECONOMIC CRISIS IN THIS COUNTRY!!!!!

NO MORE RIDERS! DO YOU HEAR ME CONCRESSCRITTERS?!? NO! MORE! RIDERS!

If you can’t do the job we _will_ vote you out. We’re awake now you assholes so watch where you step.

*ahem* )

A little sore and tired today. I went to work yesterday from 9 to 4 so I could get a bunch of things done in the plant and a few other things.

Thankfully both vehicles started at least today but then it wasn’t -21F this morning either. I’m done with winter... )

And no one should have to use Windows either.

I can’t believe the amount of people downloading the Windows 7 Beta. IT’S VISTA WITHOUT THE SHINY!

*ahem*

Anyway we’re in for another cold snap so I fully expect to have to get out there and plow repeatedly. I had to do it a few times on Saturday but that didn’t turn out too bad. Still have to find the chains for the rear wheels though.

Came up with another airship related question. How much more energetic does helium become when heated?

Heated helium, poured pavers, and demolition reclaimation... )
(There's a posting bug in MacJournal 5.1.3b1 so I had to post this manually.)

There are ducks on the surface of the reservoir today.

Woke up sharply at 4 a.m. today for the second time this week so the L-Typtophan is having some effect because I was immediately awake with no drowsiness. No dreams.

I’ll definitely have to run the plow at least once when I get home and likely we’ll get more snow over the next few weeks. I just hope none of it turns out to the be “bury us alive” kind of snowstorm.

Got one of the XXXX to make XXXX but not the stuff to do XXXX with XXXX so that’s on hold for the moment. (Yes, I’m teasing my wife here a bit since it’s a spring/summer surprise for her. ^_^ )

Started working on conserving money today. For one thing I wrote down a list of things I wanted from E-Bay and then deleted most of my E-Bay watch list. That should prevent most of the impulse spending there. Though I still need to buy the rest of the XXXXs.

I’ve also decided that I’m going to try going to the restaurant only a couple of days out of the week. Mondays because it’s just a comfortable way to start the week and Thursday because it’s usually after my check goes into the bank.

This of course means that I’ll have to *gasp!* make my own lunches. I should be able to plan that pretty easy but I want to make sure it’s not stuff I wold need to cook because I enjoy getting out of the building during lunch. So probably lots of sandwiches then unless I decide to mount a microwave in my truck. (I could do it easily enough but where would I put it??) I like the idea of bento boxes but as I’m not Japanese I have no idea how to prepare one.

Been watching my congresscritters like a hawk. Haven’t looked at it today but I’m keeping an eye on them at least now. Now if we just didn’t have to wait two weeks before getting the new president.

So I figure I’ll need at least two sets of wire rack shelves if not three to set up the seed starter stuff but first I’ve got to clean out that space massively. There are people telling me to just junk the stuff there in the garbage but in all honestly I can’t do that in good conscience. I’ve thrown away circuit boards before, the odd computer part, etc. but two of these are old printers that are dead. Then there’s the buttload of chemicals that I can’t find a good disposal source for. There’s no clear path to dispose of things like thinners and malathion and such. I’m still checking on it but I suspect that I’ll have to use the industrial disposal source via work. Thankfully we don’t get charged for that sort of thing beyond our existing contract. Regardless I’ll get rid of all of it somehow.

Watched the original Dominion: Tank Police on Netflix last night. It was damn funny in an over-the-top kind of anime. I think I’ll get the DVDs because the dub was one of those horrible dubs made in the 80’s with truly horrible voice acting and I’d like to compare the subtitle to the dub just to see what’s different. Oh and if you watch it - one of the best distraction sequences by villains EVER. ;-)

Damn. Now I want a tank like the mini one in that anime. :-(

I need to sit down and start drawing again. I miss doing that but right now I don’t have the space. Maybe once all the crap gets organized.

And I need to get writing and doing a great many other things...
