So they did layoffs at work today. Thankfully I’m not among them but due to my being in charge of certain things I had to know a couple days ahead of time. That kind of ate at me because it meant I had to work with people I’ve known for quite some time, several years some of them, and not say a thing. Act like everything was okay.
I hate doing that shit. I know it’s necessary but I hate it with a passion. *sigh*
I think I’m going to try and get my hair cut when I get home tonight. I think I need to feel like a change in me is okay. Hair I can deal with.
I looked at my Livejournal entries the other day and I realized that over 75% of them aren’t tagged. Guess I’m going to have to take care of that sometime soon. It’d be nice to find something I once posted.
After today I’m having fries, fries, and pie for lunch today along with my standard pita. I just don’t want to eat anything because I _have_ to today.
I’m kind of numb at the moment.
Since my wife and I decided not to pay off the credit union loan right away I’ve taken some money out so I can get some stuff off my E-Bay list. Don’t worry - I cleared it with the wife. ;-P
I’ve bought some more of the paving molds we need to re-do the house and the garden, the entire Blue Beetle radio drama from years ago on CD, the packing material for my friend’s 40th birthday present, an Aurian pendant, and a candle mold shaped like a giant crystal that I’m going to use to produce a mold suitable for using resin. A motley miscellaneous collection of things but they’ll all have their place.
They’re talking about snow again and it snowed north of us so it might not pass us by. Last night was rainy with thunder but it was that cold and grey kind of rain that just makes everything unappealing and flat. I could really use a warm spring rain to stand under right now...
Got the motherboard for my neighbor’s computer and it’s the right one...except that it won’t fit in his case. *headdesk* So I’m going to just use some of my spending money to get him a case that works if I don’t have one already. (I might have a workable one for him.) Which means that he’s pretty much going to just get a different computer back than his original one. I hate when the universe does that sort of crap to me.
After my haircut I’ll probably stop by the pet store next door and see what they have in the way of pet bed warmers. If I can get the same price locally as I can without shipping added then I’ll just pick it up at the store.
I also need to go out and get some replacement wire for the two G3 Pismo/iBook power adapters I’ve torn apart to repair. I won’t have the nice yo-yo covering for them when I’m done but they’ll work. The Pismo screen is having issues so I’m going to have to look into replacing it eventually but not right now.
Gods I’m so depressed right now. This sort of crap really can be a downer. I really need to make a SAD lamp for the house or put a heat lamp in the bathroom or something. Something to help the blah feelings I’m having lately.
One of the guys at work bought a Panasonic DV camcorder for $199 and it’s actually pretty cool. I’m going to look into those soon because we’re taking a trip to Missoula, MT in July of this year and I definitely want video. And we’ve put off buying a good one for some time now. And at that price, provided we watch the finances, we could theoretically get two of them. I have no problem his and hers camcorders.
Didn’t order my 25 pack of fresnel magnifiers but I might yet do that. We’re doing okay money-wise and the credit union money will be in on Monday so I can do it the question is do I want to do it. I’m going to need my brother-in-law to do some custom ductwork for me anyway because what I want to do will sit in an open window when it’s done.
I definitely don’t want to go back to work today but I have to...
